SharePoint language pack installation

As a note on installing language packs for SharePoint, you need to install English variations even though the base installation is English. If this is not done, then you will experience issues with field translations.

For example, I am using English and Arabic and will install the language packs in the following order:

English language packs installed in the following order:

32 bit

1. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack
2. The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Language Pack
3. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1)
4. The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Language Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1)

64 bit

1. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack x64
2. SharePoint Server 2007 Language Pack (x64)
3. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1), 64-Bit Edition
4. The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Language Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1), 64-Bit Edition

Arabic language packs installed in the following order:

32 bit

1. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack
2. The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Language Pack
3. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1)
4. The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Language Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1)

64 bit

1. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack x64
2. SharePoint Server 2007 Language Pack (x64)
