Services Ready Practice Accelerators for Microsoft SharePoint 2010

Services Ready is a program for Microsoft Gold Partners that “provides pre-tested, repeatable offerings and best practices developed by Microsoft Services during early consulting engagements”, or as I would call it a set of templates and best practices around sale, planning and implementation of Microsoft solution offerings. For a specific service implementation, this includes:

  • Instructor-led training around the delivery of the solution
  • Solution accelerators for delivering the project using the Microsoft Solution Framework
  • Project plans, sales presentations, vision and scope documents, functional specification templates and more

All in all, services ready is a great resource and a good start of any project.

Recently, I have come across Services Ready for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 which covers the following sections:

  • Platform Services
  • Enterprise Portals
  • Enterprise Search
  • Social Computing
  • Business Intelligence

Now, this is not merely an extended version of SharePoint Deployment and Planning Services (SDPS) but a framework guidance for delivering enterprise scale custom implementations. The accelerator should work as a way of producing SharePoint solutions quicker with better quality and higher predictability.
