Enterprise Architect

I am an Enterprise Architect who focus on tactical and strategic solution architectures, information architecture and governance strategies.

With over 20 years of experience in IT, I have been involved in over 200 project deliveries within Enterprise Content Management, Business Intelligence, Commerce and Integration. My role varies from Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect, Information Architect, Trainer, Project Manager, Test Manager, Business Analyst and Developer.

My technical expertise is within cloud-based enterprise software platforms, using technologies such as Azure and Office365, Business Intelligence platforms based on SQL Server, PowerPivot and BigData as well as integrations with line-of-business platforms.

I provide the following service offerings:

  • Architecture Planning and Design
  • Deployment and Planning Services
  • Health and Risk Assessments
  • Quality Assurance for Software Platforms
  • Skill and Knowledge Ramp-up

I help organisations to optimize their daily business processes. My driver is to enable workers to improve their performance by working in a smarter, easier and more efficient manner and by shortening the timespan between actions and results. As a team, we achieve this by combining smart technology with alignment of human processes and workflows. It is the successful rollout and execution of projects like these that provide me with satisfaction in my profession.

My vision is a productivity platform that is open and transparent which can democratize the workplace; where business information is provided just-in-time and real time communication and collaboration enables us to make instant business decisions. We can get there and still address privacy, security and compliance in a cloud-first, mobile-first workplace. Together, we form, align and execute a plan to streamline business processes across the enterprise.

Selection of Projects and Assignments

Note: The assignment list below covers my latest projects. It aims to show a good showcase of deliveries in technologies, roles and business sectors. Some assignments are unlisted due to confidentiality agreements.

Enterprise Architect, Telia

Period: September 2019, ongoing

Client: Telia Company

Industry: Telecom

Role: Enterprise Architect

Assignment: Telia is launching their “Next Generation Intranet” based on a concept I designed around a multi-cloud, loosely coupled service hub. The platform connects data, notification and services from many different systems, over many different authentication providers, into a unified view. This system is the basis for the new co-worker application at Telia which will be used globally by the 22,000 staff.

The first phase was successfully completed on time and on budget using an agile delivery method and continuous deployment to an elastic cloud platform, constructed from idea inception to production release in 11 weeks. During this time, the team launched new versions of code up to 10 times per day and the deployment, quality control and approval was automated to deliver functionality to the different service environments while allowing the infrastructure to automatically scale and optimise performance vs cost based on actual usage

The project is now extended for a second phase, bringing in a range of new integrations and functionality to the business with a focus of integration to line of business systems and applications.

Daily activities range from business analysis, quality assurance (testing, code reviews, refactoring), solution architecture, troubleshooting, documentation and scaffolding/prototyping of code frameworks and solutions.

The role required me to work between executive stakeholders, delivery teams and support organisations. I delivered expertise and experience in the Enterprise Content Management field together with a substantial knowledge base in full lifecycle delivery management and DevOps. I interacted on-site with client business and delivery teams in Scandinavia as well as offshore development teams in multiple locations in India.
